🌟 Understanding the Doctify Review Journey

How patients leave feedback for specialists, practices, care homes and digital services

Updated today

The Doctify review journey is the process patients follow to leave feedback after an appointment. This journey has been carefully designed to be simple, user-friendly, and secure, helping patients share valuable insights while supporting your reputation as a trusted provider.

This article explains each step of the review flow so you can understand what patients see and how their reviews are collected and submitted.

🧭 How the Review Journey Works

1. Review Invitation

Patients are invited to leave a review via:

  • A post-appointment email or SMS

  • A QR code in your clinic or reception

  • A direct link shared by your team

These links open the Doctify review journey on web or mobile. Check out how can I collect reviews article.

2. Initial Rating Screen

The first screen asks patients to rate their experience using a star-based system. To support ease of use:

  • Each star is inside a clearly clickable box

  • Accompanying phrases explain what each rating means

  • Wording is tailored depending on the type of review:

    • Specialist

    • Practice

    • Care home

    • Digital service

3. Writing the Review

Patients are prompted to leave a written comment in their own words.
They can also answer structured questions based on the type of provider, such as:

  • Friendliness

  • Clarity of communication

  • Wait times

  • Environment

4. Select Keywords

As part of the review journey, patients are asked to select up to three keywords that describe why they came to see you (e.g., “knee pain,” “health check,” “fertility,” “acne”).

These keywords are important for two key reasons:

  • Search visibility – Keywords help improve how you appear in Doctify’s search results, making it easier for new patients to find you.

  • Relevant insights – They provide meaningful context to reviews, helping prospective patients understand what conditions or treatments you’re known for.

Tip: Encourage patients to choose accurate and specific keywords when leaving a review — it strengthens both your profile and patient trust.

5. Selecting the Provider (if applicable)

In some cases, patients will be asked to choose who or what they are reviewing.

If a patient is reviewing a practice:

  • They are shown a list of associated specialists

  • Larger profile photos and speciality labels make it easier to recognise who they saw

  • If there are more than six specialists, patients can search by:

    • Doctor name

    • Condition

    • Procedure

If a patient is reviewing a specialist:

  • They may be asked to confirm the practice they attended, with larger images to assist with recognition.

6. Submitting the Review

Before submitting, patients confirm their name and phone number. This helps Doctify verify authenticity and reduce spam.

All reviews pass through our moderation and verification processes before going live on your profile.

💬 Why the Review Journey Matters

The patient review journey is central to building trust online. Reviews:

  • Showcase the quality of care you provide

  • Help future patients make informed choices

  • Give your team useful feedback to reflect on

By understanding the steps your patients follow, you can better encourage them to share their experience and make the most of the Doctify platform.
